Hi! I am originally from Oklahoma so I am a huge Oklahoma State University Cowboy fan! Both my BS and MS are from Oklahoma State University in the Entomology and Plant Pathology Department where I studied tick-borne diseases during my MS. After graduating with my MS, I worked in El Yunque rainforest in Puerto Rico and then taught high school science in north Texas for two years. Currently, I am working on my PhD with Dr. Ismael Badillo-Vargas and Dr. Keyan Zhu-Salzman. I am investigating the biology of the rice delphacid Tagosodes orizicolus and the pathogen it transmits to rice, Rice hoja blanca virus. My research interests encompass all sectors of vector biology including vectors and pathogens of humans, animals, and plants.
