Xiaotian Tang in the lab holding a pipetteXiaotian Tang is currently a Ph.D. student in Dr. Tamborindeguy’s lab. He is utilizing molecular tools and transcriptome analyses to identify the key genes involved in the interactions between potato psyllid (Bactericera cockerelli) gut and ‘Candidatus Liberibacter solanacearum’ (Lso). In addition, he also investigated the intracellular immune response of potato psyllids to Lso at the gut interface. His dissertation is therefore an important contribution to a mechanistic understanding of Lso transmission, provides insights into understanding the adaptive significance of the immune response and has the potential to create new approaches for disrupting Lso transmission.
