German cockroach
Scientific name: Blattella germanica (Linnaeus)
(Blattodea: Blattellidae)
Facts: The German cockroach is about 5/8 of an inch long, light brown in color. Wings of adults cover the abdomen. The pronotum has two prominent black stripes. Nymphs are smaller, wingless and have a pale stripe that runs lengthwise down the middle of the darker brown body.
This household pest can be a real nuisance and may be found in colonies.
