Dr. Alisson da Silva Santana is an Assistant Professor at the Texas A&M AgriLife Research & Extension Center, Weslaco and the Department of Entomology. His research and extension activities focus on integrated pest management (IPM) of arthropods in diverse cropping systems, including field and specialty crops. Dr. Santana’s program integrates fundamental research on insect biology, ecology, and behavior with applied approaches such as biological control, cultural practices, host plant resistance, and optimized pesticide use to develop and test practical, economically and environmentally sustainable pest management strategies.
