Academic Advising

Undergraduate academic advising is centralized through the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. Students in the Department of Entomology are served by the Kleberg Advising Hub. Our knowledgeable, skilled academic advisors help students explore their interests, consider alternative majors, select courses, develop a degree plan, register for classes and meet degree requirements.

Graduate students should consult their faculty advisor first for many of their academic advising needs. For inquiries about deadlines, paperwork (Docusign), and departmental policies, graduate students may reach out to the Entomology graduate advisor for assistance.

Students can use Navigate to make an appointment with an academic advisor. Students are also encouraged to meet with an academic advisor routinely (once a semester) and early in the semester.

Preparing for a Meeting

To prepare for a meeting, undergraduate students are encouraged to bring a list of questions or issues they would like to discuss. If they need assistance with their schedule or long-term planning, students should bring a draft schedule or tentative class list along. Students are encouraged to be kind and arrive on time!
