Undergraduate Admissions

Freshman Admissions

(Current High School/GED Students)

Freshman applicants are students who have applied or will apply to join Texas A&M University and have no previous college credit or whose only college credit was received prior to high school graduation (dual-credit/AP/IB).

You must submit your application to Texas A&M University through the TAMU Office of Admissions. They handle the receiving and processing of all application materials. All questions concerning application deadlines, application requirements, and if your application materials have been received need to be directed to the Office of Admissions.

Transfer Admissions

(Non-TAMU Students)

Undergraduate students transferring into the Department of Entomology must hold at least a 3.0 grade point ratio to qualify for application review. Transferring students should also have completed at least 24 hours of graded coursework from the institution(s) of higher learning from which they are transferring.

Special consideration may be given to individuals with a GPR below 3.0 if they have a unique background mutually beneficial to the college and the student. Applications, essays, and letters of recommendation are all considered in the review process. All transfer students are admitted on a probationary basis pending completion of their first semester of at least 12 hours at Texas A&M and a minimum 2.5 GPR for that semester.
