Professional Summary

Arash Kheirodin, Ph.D., is an assistant professor in the Texas A&M University Department of Entomology. Dr. Kheirodin has broad interests in integrated pest management, molecular ecology, landscape ecology, multi-trophic interactions and biological control. His research program emphasizes multidisciplinary research aiming to find sustainable solutions to pest problems in controlled environment agriculture. His current research involves developing an integrated green peach aphid and whitefly management program on leafy greens, strawberries and peppers at Texas A&M AgriLife Research, Dallas Center.  His research is specifically focused on finding: 1) Effective natural enemies for sustainable control of insect pests using laboratory feeding trials, manipulative cage experiments and molecular analysis, 2) Finding compatible biological (e.g., entomopathogenic fungi) and chemical products to complement biological control efforts, 3) Find banker and flowering plants linked to the higher success of biological control in CEA, and 4) Developing an extensive IPM program for major CEA pests.
